The annual Chapter Accreditation Program is a component of The Plan for Prominence in Greek Life.
The objective of The Plan for Prominence in Greek Life initiative is to foster a vibrant, growing and diverse fraternity and sorority community at West Virginia University. The Plan provides a comprehensive outline of reasonable expectations of our fraternities and sororities and an opportunity for our chapters to showcase the achievements and accomplishments of the organization as a whole, as well as their individual members.
The evaluation process encourages and acknowledges the success of the fraternity and sorority community by developing and demonstrating best practices in each chapter. The annual evaluation serves as a foundation for recognizing differences among the West Virginia fraternity and sorority chapters, governing councils, and our national and international organizations.
of the goals of The Plan for Prominence is to develop a unified program while recognizing
and appreciating the differences between the organizations within the
Interfraternity Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc., and the Panhellenic
Association. The Plan, therefore,
provides a more personalized approach to establishing annual expectations and goals
that also takes into consideration the fact the community is comprised of three different groups. The ultimate goal of
this process is to improve chapter strategic planning while recognizing the
social component of fraternity and sorority membership while encouraging the
development of the values under which our organizations were founded.
